Bridge Work
Di-Tech International has been working with bridge crews for about 40 years. Our toolbox is fully equipped to handle any part of a bridges maintenance, expansion, stabilization, and demolition.
We have worked on bridges across Canada and in every environment. In the mountains, on the prairies, freeways, downtown and underwater. Our people know bridges.
There are many applications requiring Di-Tech’s diamond cutting and drilling expertise. The capabilities of our operators and our wide range of equipment are extensive.
Core drill
- Core samples on new or existing bridge decks and piers
- Barricade post holes
- Coring through concrete barricades to accommodate barricade lifting
- Coring for anchor bolts for barricades, signs or light posts
- Coring bridge piers to add additional anchors or support
- Coring for piping, posts and/or anchor bolts to minimize removal on the existing bridge
- Coring through holes for lifting rather than anchoring lifting devices to the pieces to be removed.
- Core holes for diamond wire access
Flat saw
Di-Tech’s flat saw is the fastest and most cost-efficient way of removing sections of the bridge deck while maintaining the structural integrity of the remaining deck and structure. More instances where we use our flat saw for bridge work:
- Make “relief” cuts (green cutting) in freshly poured approach slabs
- Expansion joint installation or removal
- Bridge deck removal and replacement or repair
- Make clean edges for heavy machinery demolition
- Water drainage
Curb cutting
Di-Tech utilizes a curb cutter machine on the approaches leading up to the bridge. The curb cutter makes long horizontal saw cuts to enable faster and easier removal of the existing barricades or curbs.
Bridge deck grooving
It provides safety traction on the bridge deck and additional water drainage off the deck surface.
Shotblasting
Shotblasting is used to remove concrete bridge deck contaminants and prepares the bridge deck for overlays and coating applications.
Chainsaw
The chainsaw is used to complete cuts cleanly without overcutting into the remaining existing structure.
Hydra Platform
Di-Tech’s Hydra Platform allows for efficient access to the side and underside of the bridge for repair or maintenance.
Wire saw
The thickness or length of a concrete structure to be cut is limitless with Di-Tech’s wire saws. Typical applications:
- Cut bridge piers, decks, approaches, barricades and abutments
- Cut structure into pieces for demolition or removal
- Expansion joint removal
- Saw cut piers or caisson’s above or below water levels
